Salads and Minions

Day three of diet. Pfffeeuegggfffft

I don't know why this isn't easier.

I genuinely love salad. I will deliberately choose it from the menu, even at posh restaurants. In my travels around the US and Europe, some of the best meals I've had have been salads. (I confess I am not talking about two limp lettuce leaves and a watery tomato).

But I also like cake.

Now I am thinking that I could chop up some Battenburg, Angel Cake, Genoa and Lemon Drizzle cake, mix it up in a big bowl, and voila - Cake Salad!!! This started as a joke, but I think it would actually work. I will investigate and report back.

Pic below of my new favourite thing in the world ever (the rocker knife not the ham salad, although that did turn out pretty well). Didn't realise these things existed until I saw one being used in the Subway in Akron, Ohio a few weeks ago.  Came home to the UK and bought meself one from Amazon, It is awesomely fab for making salad that you can eat with a fork, and without watercress sticking out of your mouth like cow eating dandelions.

My new favourite thing in the world ever.
Bought the Minion cake for my son's birthday (yes he is 23, but he still deserves Minions :) ). Was a horrible moment when we had to slice him. Woody and I debated whether it was kinder to take his glasses off first. Then we remembered he was made of cakeness...

Tesco Minion cake...haha stood
him up to take the photo and the bottom two slices fell off

Have a nice evening,

Fickle

At work, going into the Ladies toilet...

Monday Morning

Me (in my head) - omfg, who has turned the light off AGAIN!! There are women who work here in case they haven't noticed. Women who, God forbid, might want to use the facilities!

Monday Afternoon

Me (in my head) - wtf, who has left the light on??! How bloody selfish - no concern for the environment!

I have concluded that I just like bitching about things.

Sunday 29 March 2015

Welcome!

I've been writing The Somewhat Peculiar Story of Mir for a few weeks now. It's the story of my life so far from birth to present, including all the wonderful and horrible things that have happened to me. I decided it was worth writing because Fate has dealt me several unusual blows and it has genuinely been pretty damn peculiar.

As I'm sat here writing the story, or driving to work thinking about it, I find myself wanting to comment about the things that are going on in my life right now.  But it will take The Somewhat Peculiar Story years (literally, I imagine) to get to the present.

So I created this journal for my daily ramblings.

There will be no consistent topic.

It will not be well written.

It may be controversial.

It may not make sense.

I will nick my daughter's illustrations from The Somewhat Peculiar Story of Mir if I can't be arsed to find others.

I will probably swear a lot. I like swearing.

However, there will definitely be cake, vodka and naked dancing.

Here is my daughter's picture of me. The words read 'Utterly Bananas' and 'Oh no, the aliens want you back'.  My daughter knows me too well.
